Seasock, T-Maxx to Appear on MTV, SPEED Shows

MTV's Wildboyz

TAMPA, FL (January 24) – Make way, Hollywood … John Seasock and the Traxxas T-Maxx™ are taking television by storm!

Seasock has attracted immense media attention driving the full-size replica of Traxxas’ award-winning T-Maxx R/C monster truck in United States Hot Rod Monster Jam® competition. Television crews from MTV and the SPEED Channel caught up with the Frackville, PA, driver between USHRA events recently. MTV filmed a “Wild Boyz” show at his shop in New Orleans and SPEED shot a promotional spot for an upcoming “Truck Universe” program while Seasock and his crew took a break from preparing for the Superbowl of Motorsports at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium.

Seasock, still ailing from a tough crash during the Louisiana Superdome Monster Jam several days earlier, worked many long, tough hours with his crew to prepare the T-Maxx for the “Wild Boyz” episode. “We filmed the show Thursday morning due to the damage to the truck,” Seasock said. “I want to thank all the people who helped get the truck ready for the show and the event in Tampa. Cal from Custom painted the body. Nolan from Prestige did the body work. Jay at Melville Supply, Doc, Dave Frey and another Dave in the garage, Eric and Mike, my crew chief, all worked really hard this week to make sure we could race this weekend. Derek from Grave Digger, Jim at Avenger and Clear Channel Motorsports helped, too. Everybody came together help us get parts. We got the body around 4 o’clock Thursday morning. We got it all put together though, and had a good time filming the ‘Wild Boyz’ show at our New Orleans shop with MTV.

“Steve-O and Chris Pontius are the main guys on the show. They travel around the world filming shows and clowning around. We gave them a chance to drive the T-Maxx truck. We have a ramp set up for testing at our shop. I went out first to show them what the truck could do. I got some big air off the ramp to show them just how much power the T-Maxx has. We had Steve-O strapped in with one of my old fire suits on and he drove the truck around some. He made two jumps off the ramp, too. He was totally amazed at the power of the T-Maxx.

“The guys were fun to work with. The whole MTV production team was professional. They had five or six cameras filming. We had a safety meeting before we got started. Safety was a top priority, and we didn’t have any problems at all. We couldn’t have asked for a better time. The show will air in March. We had an awesome time. We did quite a few takes to give people a behind-the-scenes look. The guys were fun to deal with. It’s amazing the amount of talent they have.”

A SPEED Channel camera crew filmed a promo for the Truck Universe show with Seasock and the T-Maxx Friday in Tampa. The show, co-hosted by Mike “Buzz” Thompson and former Monster Jam pit reporter Matt Steele, premieres in March.
