ROANOKE, VA (February 9) – Fresh from his first United States Hot Rod Association victory in the T-Maxx, John Seasock will be racing to extend the Traxxas monster truck’s winning streak this weekend in the Monster Jam at the Roanoke Civic Center.
Seasock put together his best performance of the season during the Thunder Nationals last weekend in Bryce Jordan Center on the Penn State University campus, winning Friday’s finale and recording six runner-up runs and a third-place finish. The 15-year monster truck veteran is looking forward to returning to the Roanoke Civic Center.
“We haven’t raced in Roanoke in a long time,” Seasock said. “I’ve always enjoyed racing in the Civic Center there. We’ll be back on dirt this week, running side-by-side races and freestyle. We’ll be competing against some really tough guys. Gary Porter will be there driving Grave Digger. He is like a mentor to me. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Brutus will be there, too, along with Little Tiger, Total Chaos, Avenger and Reptoid.”
Western Virginia’s premier full-service convention, exhibition and cultural complex will host three Monster Jam shows this weekend, and the 11,000-seat Civic Center is expected to be sold out for each. The shows are scheduled to begin at 8pm Friday, 2pm Saturday and 8pm Saturday. The Roanoke Civic Center gates will open an hour before each show.
Tickets are available at the Roanoke Civic Center Box Office, all Tickets.com outlets, online at Tickets.com or by phone at 888-397-3100. Gold Circle tickets cost $20. Super Value tickets are being sold for $16 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets cost $2 more on the day of the show. Advance Auto Parts stores are offering $3 discount coupons for each show through Thursday.
Seasock will sign autographs while displaying the Traxxas T-Maxx at the Advance Auto Parts store near the Roanoke Civic Center Thursday between 2pm and 6pm. A Party in the Pits is scheduled for Saturday between 11:30am and 12:30pm. Free pit passes to the Party in the Pits are available at Advance Auto Parts stores.
“Starting out with a new team and a new truck this year, I feel like we’ve done a really good job with the T-Maxx,” Seasock said. “When we can get some more seat time and get it all figured out, we’ll be one of the best.”
