Seasock Heads to Metrodome to Extend Winning Streak
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (February 16) Get ready for America’s hottest monster truck, Minnesota Monster Jam® fans! John Seasock has Traxxas’ T-Maxx ready to extend its United States Hot Rod Association winning streak in Saturday’s Monster Jam at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome.
Seasock has driven the T-Maxx to victories in the Bryce Jordan Center on the Penn State University campus and the Roanoke Civic Center the last two weekends, and is poised for a third straight USHRA Monster Jam triumph.
“We’re looking forward to the Metrodome event,” Seasock said. “It’s a big stadium show that will be televised on the SPEED Channel. All the big hitters will be there. There’s never any slack for us, but I wouldn’t expect anything less. That’s OK though; we’ll be fine.”
Seasock and the T-Maxx will compete against the Grave Digger® driven by Dennis Anderson, Maximum Destruction®, Hot Wheels®, Predator®, Godzilla®, Rolling Thunder®, Devastator®, Destroyer®, War Wizard® and Wild Hair® in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome portion of the Subway Motorsports Series.
“The T-Maxx is ready to go,” Seasock said. “It’s kind of funny; we were having solenoid problems last weekend so we changed out the solenoids. It turned out one of the new solenoids was bad, so it was a snowball effect. We ended up checking everything and found the bad solenoid. Once we put good solenoids on, the truck has been fine.
“Mike (Hoy, the team’s crew chief) has been working really hard this week. I’ve been sick, so he had to do most of the work himself. He has the toughest job out there. I get the easy part; all I have to do is hang on to the (steering) wheel.”
The Metrodome will open at 5:30pm, with competition beginning at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at the Metrodome Box Office during the week, all Ticketmaster outlets and online at Ticketmaster.com, or by phone at 651-989-5151. Gold and adult tickets cost $15 each, and $5 for children. All seats will be $2 more on the day of the event.
Fans can attend the Party in the Pits at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome Saturday between 3:30pm and 5:15pm.
“The Metrodome is a huge, cool place,” Seasock said. “They always have a sellout crowd (63,000). We will run a similar program to the other domes: Chicago-style racing and freestyle. There are plenty of RC fanatics there, too, so we’re looking forward to a good show.”
