Seasock, T-Maxx to Return to Sunshine State

LAKE CITY, FL (April 6) – Sunshine State monster truck fans will get their third dose of the T-Maxx™ this weekend when the full-size replica of Traxxas’ award-winning R/C truck roars into the Columbia County/Lake City Fairgrounds.

Joey and Melissa Stathas of Big Boys Toys organized the non-sanctioned event, hosting John Seasock and the T-Maxx, along with Sudden Impact®, Monkey’n Around®, Grave Digger® and God, Guts &® Glory driven by Melissa. Seasock’s teammate, Brandon Legarde, drives the Sudden Impact monster truck.

“We’re going to have side-by-side racing, wheelie contests and doughnut contests,” Seasock said. “We’ll show off the T-Maxx for the Florida fans. It should be a good time. I like Florida; it’s treated us well so far. We hope to go down there and pull three out three victories this weekend.”

Seasock, winner of the United States Hot Rod Association’s Fan Choice Award, raced into the semifinals during the Superbowl of Motorsports in Tampa, FL, January 22nd, then reached the quarterfinals in the Superbowl of Motorsports in Orlando, FL, a week later.

“We replaced the axle we broke Sunday, and we made a new wheelie bar because we wadded that up pretty good, too,” Seasock said following last weekend’s Inaugural O'Reilly Auto Parts Texas 4-Wheel Jamboree®. “We have the T-Maxx all ready to go.”

The Columbia County/Lake City Fairgrounds gates will open at 5pm and racing starts at 8pm Friday and Saturday. A pit party sponsored by Lake City Hobbies (free with paid admission) is scheduled for Saturday between 6pm and 7pm. Fans bringing a church bulletin will receive a free monster truck ride Sunday afternoon. The gates open at noon and racing starts at 2pm Sunday. The Columbia County/Lake City Fairgrounds is equipped with covered seating, so the event will be run rain or shine.

Advance tickets are being sold for $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 years old and younger. Tickets at the gate will be sold for slightly higher prices. For more information, call the Monster Truck Event hotline at 386-755-8558 or Big Boys Toys at 352-812-3024.
