FREDERICKSBURG, TX (April 5) Traxxas monster truck driver John Seasock enjoyed a full weekend of displaying and racing the T-Maxx during the Inaugural O'Reilly Auto Parts 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds.
“We displayed the T-Maxx at Al’s Hobbies in San Antonio Thursday, then at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Clarksville Friday morning,” Seasock said. “We had a great time with Al; he’s a great guy. We got to the fairgrounds Friday afternoon and Mike (Hoy, the team’s crew chief) got the T-Maxx ready to compete. It was the inaugural event in Fredericksburg, so we weren’t really sure what to expect. There were plenty of displays, the place was packed, and it turned out to be a phenomenal weekend.”
Seasock, who reached the semifinals in 11 of the 14 United States Hot Rod Association Monster Jam® events earlier in the year, finished third in both of Saturday’s Dodge Pro Monster Truck races.
“We ran two shows on Saturday and one on Sunday,” Seasock said. “We ran straight-line match races and freestyle. The races were good; we finished third both times Saturday. When we went out for freestyle, we brought the crowd to its feet. Every truck there was pulling off monster freestyles. We pulled a big wheelie jump at the far end of the track and pulled some wheelies off the pyramid in the middle of the track, too. We were all getting big air and cracking doughnuts. It was a great time and the fans loved it.”
The full-size replica of Traxxas’ award-winning R/C monster truck competed against Bigfoot®, Raminator®, Ramunition® and Avenger® in Fredericksburg. Seasock lost to Bigfoot and finished in third place Saturday afternoon. He was the fast loser and came up short against eventual winner, Raminator, in Saturday evening’s semifinals.
“The hospitality there was phenomenal,” Seasock said. “We had loads of fans come over to the truck and tell us how much the like the T-Maxx. The fans loved the show and we got quite a few new T-Maxx fans. There were some Traxxas employees there, too.”
Seasock will drive the T-Maxx in an unsanctioned event in Lake City, FL, Friday through Sunday, then head back to the Lone Star State to visit Traxxas headquarters the following week.
“We’re looking forward to visiting with Traxxas employees and displaying the T-Maxx at HobbyTown USA in Dallas,” Seasock said.
