MTV2 ‘Wildboyz’ Show to Feature Seasock, T-Maxx
NEW ORLEANS, LA (April 20) Stay tuned to MTV2, monster truck fans … John Seasock and the Traxxas T-Maxx will be featured on “Wildboyz” Friday night!
Seasock, the United States Hot Rod Association’s Fan Choice Award winner, has attracted immense media attention driving the full-size replica of Traxxas’ award-winning T-Maxx R/C monster truck this year. A television camera crew from MTV2 caught up with the Frackville, PA, driver between USHRA events in late January. MTV2 filmed a “Wildboyz” show at his shop in New Orleans while Seasock and his crew took a break from preparing for the January 22nd Superbowl of Motorsports at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium. The show will air Friday at 9pm Eastern Time.
Seasock worked many long, tough hours with his crew and others to prepare the T-Maxx for the “Wildboyz” episode. In fact, the paint was still wet as the film crew started filming Seasock driving the T-Maxx.
“Steve-O and Chris Pontius are the main guys on the ‘Wildboyz’ show,” Seasock said of the popular program in its second year of production. “They travel around the world filming shows and clowning around. I took the T-Maxx out first to show them what it was capable of with some doughnuts and jumps off the ramp. I gave Steve-O one of my firesuits to wear. We told him some rules, got him fitted in the truck and he went out. He made a few jumps and did a really good job. I don’t think he will be quitting his day job though. When he got out of the truck, he was shaking quite a bit. He couldn’t believe the power the truck has and was totally amazed by the experience. It was a really fun day.
“The guys were great to work with. The whole MTV2 production team was professional. They must have had eight cameras filming, and the technology is phenomenal. We had a safety meeting before we got started. Safety was a top priority and we didn’t have any problems at all. I was amazed by all the safety that goes into it. They act pretty carefree on TV, but the truth of the matter is there’s a lot of safety put into it. We couldn’t have asked for a better time; it was awesome. We did quite a few takes to give people a good, behind-the-scenes look. The guys were fun to deal with. It’s amazing the amount of talent they have. They rolled in with four vans of crews, camera people and safety personnel. It’s a pretty big operation.”
Seasock and his crew will display the T-Maxx for Race Against Drugs Saturday between 10am to 3pm in Waynesboro, PA. He will drive the T-Maxx in the Special Events Performance Series’ Advance Auto Parts Spring 4-Wheel Jamboree May 13-15 in Lima, OH.
