T-Maxx Reaches Semifinals in Monster Mash

Route 66 Monster MashJOLIET, IL (July 5) – John Seasock showed why the Traxxas T-Maxx is one of America’s most consistent monster trucks last weekend during the Monster Mash at Route 66 Raceway.

Seasock drove Traxxas’ larger-than-life-size replica of its #1-selling R/C monster truck into the semifinal round for the 20th time in 27 racing events Saturday.

“They had a great crowd; it was a mob,” Seasock said. “There were more than 10,000 fans there. They had us racing on a Figure-8, which was a blast. Winning the first race was probably the most fun I’ve had racing all year.”

Seasock, who has won five United States Hot Rod Association Monster Jams since Traxxas introduced the full-size T-Maxx this year, defeated Raminator® in the first round.

“We had a great first-round race against Mark Hall, a top competitor,” Seasock said. “The Hall brothers have a great team. We raced against Ramunition®, Raminator’s teammate, in the semifinals. We had him covered – we had him beaten by a lot – but when we went through the last turn, our rear steering locked up. We hit the last ramp sideways and couldn’t get across the finish line. Dale (Hall) got across the finish line and won the race.

“The problem put us out for the night. When we were jumping, something came up, cut a wire, and shorted out the rear steering. It was really a bummer, because the T-Maxx was running great and I was having a good time driving it. We had a good truck beaten, too. Ramunition went on to win the finals. I guess if you have to lose, it’s best to lose to the winner of the event.”

As usual, the USHRA Fan Choice Award winner found the silver lining in an otherwise tough situation.

“It was a good time and we got to meet a lot of great people,” Seasock said. “We introduced the T-Maxx to plenty of fans. Those things happen. Part of monster truck racing is crushing cars, and sometimes a part can come up and damage your truck. That’s what happened; a part came up, cut the wire and the solenoid burned up. You just take the good with the bad

“I think we’re having a really good year. We’re going to go on to Bloomsburg (PA, for a Special Events Performance Series 4-Wheel Jamboree Friday through Sunday) and give it our best.”
