T-Maxx to Race in Seasock’s Back Yard
BLOOMSBURG, PA (July 6) – It’s not often John Seasock drives the Traxxas T-Maxx™ close to his Pennsylvania home. When the opportunity presents itself, he makes the most of it.
Seasock can hardly wait to drive the larger-than-life-size version of Traxxas’ #1-selling R/C monster truck into the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds in this weekend’s 18th Annual Summer 4-Wheel Jamboree. Seasock steered the T-Maxx to victory in two of four races during the USHRA Monster Jam in nearby Wilkes-Barre, PA, in March.
“Bloomsburg is near and dear to my heart,” Seasock said Wednesday. “It’s one of largest outdoor events of year and it’s only 20 minutes from my house. It’s so close to where I live; we’ll have plenty of friends and family there cheering for the T-Maxx. I’m sure the hometown crowd will get really wound up.”
Traxxas, the leader in Ready-To-Race® radio-control models, has broken new ground by bursting into the earth-shaking world of monster truck racing this year. Thousands of proud T-Maxx owners now have the opportunity to cheer the full-size version of the world’s premier four-wheel-drive R/C monster truck to victory.
Seasock drove the T-Maxx into third place twice during the Special Events Performance Series 2005 season opener in Fredericksburg, TX, in early April and reached the semifinals during the Spring 4-Wheel Jamboree in Lima, OH, five weeks later. The Bloomsburg Fairgrounds will host the 18th Annual Summer 4-Wheel Jamboree Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“We’ve gone from one extreme to the other in the Jamborees,” Seasock said. “We either do real well or we roll. You have to take the good with the bad though. There’s plenty of room to play and pull wheelies at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds. They also put up some really good pyramids for freestyle, so we’re going to let the T-Maxx loose. I’ve been to Bloomsburg the last five years, and it’s massive. They sell out the local hotels and campgrounds a year in advance for this event.”
Seasock knows he will have to be at his best to maintain his reputation as one of the best monster truck drivers in the country.
“They bring in plenty of top trucks for this event,” Seasock said. “Bigfoot® is bringing two trucks. Raminator®, Rammunition®, Black Stallion®, Nitemare®, Iron Warrior®, Avenger®, Big Dawg® and Eradicator® will also be there. There will be plenty of eagles in the infield, so we’ll have a blast.
“The T-Maxx is 110% and ready to go. Mike (Hoy, the T-Maxx crew chief) has been working hard on it all week. I have my boys (J.R. and Kyle) with me, so we’ll have a great weekend. Everybody’s used to me driving Sudden Impact. This will be my first time there in the T-Maxx, so we plan to make plenty of new T-Maxx fans. It should be a great time.”
The Outdoor Channel will be in Bloomsburg for the first time shooting five episodes for its World of Trucks show. ESPN2 will also have a crew at the Summer 4-Wheel Jamboree filming material for its upcoming “TruckStop” series.
