T-Maxx to Compete in Monster Mania Showdown
QUARRYVILLE, PA (July 27) – Calling all monster truck maniacs; head to Buck Motorsports Park Saturday to see the Traxxas T-Maxx™ in the Monster Mania Showdown!
United States Hot Rod Association Fan Choice Award winner John Seasock will drive Traxxas’ larger-than-life-size replica of the world’s premier R/C monster truck against Kicker®, The Demon® and Captain USA® in racing and freestyle competition.
“Sean Duhon, who drives Kicker, is one of my teammates,” Seasock said. “He got me in Amite (during the Southern Monster Truck Showdown July 15-17), but I beat him twice. He did a good job and he deserved to win; I sure didn’t cut him any slack. There’s nothing better than helping somebody and then have them beat you, but I’m not going to let that happen again this weekend. Sean’s only a rookie, but he’s come a long way this year,” Seasock said. “I’m proud to have him and Brandon Lagarde as my teammates.”
Duhon’s impressive performance brought out the best in Seasock during the Southern Monster Truck Showdown. He drove the T-Maxx to victory in all three freestyles, two wheelie contests and two of the three racing events.
“They run two shows every year at Buck Motorsports Park, and I’ve been racing there for many years,” Seasock, a 16-year veteran, said. “It’s in Amish country, about an hour and a half from my house. We will do some side-by-side drag racing on the flat track, then they put out two sets of cars and some ramps for time-trial passes. We get some big, big air on those steep ramps. We also run freestyle, which is what we do best.
“We broke a sway bar in Englishtown (during the Summer Motorsports Spectacular at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park on July 13th). Mike (Hoy, the T-Maxx crew chief) welded it together and we got through the Southern Monster Truck Showdown with it. Mike is a machinist by trade, and he has been machining new parts for the new sway bar. He also put together a new, trick setup similar to the one Dennis Anderson of Grave Digger® has been trying. It’s been working well for him, so we’re expecting similar results. Mike does a super job. He’s a perfectionist and we complement each other well.”
Saturday’s festivities at Buck Motorsports Park will open with a one-hour autograph session starting at 5pm. Tickets to the Monster Mania Showdown will cost $15 for adults and $8 for children between the ages of five and 12. Children under the age of five accompanying a paying adult will receive free admission.
“We’re going to open it up for the home-state fans,” said Seasock, who lives in Frackville, PA. “We’re going to show them what the T-Maxx can do.”
