Traxxas T-Maxx Enters Mobile Monster Jam
MOBILE, AL (August 4) – Monster Jam® competitors and fans beware! John Seasock and the Traxxas T-Maxx™ are poised to dominate this weekend’s United States Hot Rod Association Monster Jam in the Mobile Civic Center.
The USHRA Fan Choice Award winner has driven Traxxas’ larger-than-life-size replica of its #1-selling R/C monster truck into the finals in two straight monster truck events, and is ready to return to the victory podium.
“The Civic Center is really nice and Mobile is in a really nice part of the country,” Seasock said. “We’re looking forward to going back and having a great time. We were there last year, and we performed really well.
“Pablo Huffaker will drive Grave Digger® this weekend. He’s a really good driver. The last time we saw him was in Lubbock (June 23-25). I also get to race against my teammate, Brandon Lagarde (Sudden Impact®). I’m really proud of the way he – and everybody on our team – has worked together and performed this year. I couldn’t ask for anything better. It will be great racing against him and showing the fans what the T-Maxx can do.”
Grave Digger narrowly defeated the T-Maxx in two semifinals races at Lubbock Motor Speedway in June, so Seasock is looking to even the score in Mobile. Bad News® and Reptoid® will also battle the T-Maxx during the Mobile Monster Jam Friday and Saturday.
“This will be a Thunder Nationals event,” Seasock said. “There are no ramps and it’s all run on concrete. There will be a doughnut contest, a wheelie contest, freestyle and side-by-side racing, so the fans will get to see the trucks a lot. With all the concrete, we can turn some really good, fast doughnuts and pull some great sky wheelies. It’s a smaller building, so you can really tell who drives their truck the best. The fans are much closer to the action, too, so we can feed off their energy. There’s nothing better in a monster truck event than to see a guy drive around really fast in a small arena.”
The Traxxas T-Maxx was at its best in the only other Thunder Nationals event Seasock entered this year. The USHRA Fan Choice Award winner put together his best weekend in United States Hot Rod Association competition at Bryce Jordan Center on the campus of Seasock’s alma mater – Penn State University – February 4-5, finishing first and second in the racing competition and second in each freestyle contest.
The gates at the Mobile Civic Center will open at 7pm, an hour before each Monster Jam begins. Monster truck drivers will sign autographs during a one-hour Party in the Pits, beginning at 6pm Saturday. Southern Ford Dealers locations are giving away Party in the Pits tickets.
Tickets are available at the Mobile Civic Center Box Office, online at Ticketmaster.com, and at all Ticketmaster locations. Monster Jam fans can charge tickets by phone at 251-434-0033. Adult admission is $15 and $8 for children.
