Traxxas T-Maxx wins Houston Monster Jam!

Houston, Texas (February 4, 2006) – Each and every year Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas hosts some of the best monster truck racing action. This year was definitely no exception as the Traxxas T-Maxx piloted by Carl Van Horn entered the Houston USHRA Monster Jam® event looking to make an impression. Eleven elite monster trucks squared off in the Chicago-Style racing course including Grave Digger®, Maximum Destruction®, King Krunch®, Madusa®, and Superman®.

The SPEED Channel was on hand filming as the Houston monster truck fans enjoyed the party in the pits before the show.   During the party in the pits T-Maxx fans were able to meet Carl Van Horn and see the 1,500+ horsepower T-Maxx in person.

In qualifying T-Maxx posted the second fastest time securing the number two qualifying spot behind the one and only Dennis Anderson in Grave Digger. As the number two qualifier T-Maxx faced Hot Wheels® in the 1st round of racing, and Van Horn piloted T-Maxx to victory. Next on the hit list was a 2nd round mach up with the Jurassic Attack®. T-Maxx laid down the power and sent the Jurassic Attack packing as the T-Maxx took the spotlight once again.

The march to the finals continued for Van Horn as he staged the Traxxas T-Maxx against David Smith and his King Krunch machine in the Semi-Finals. The light went green and Carl put the hammer down sailing past the King Krunch on the final jump. This impressive win advanced T-Maxx to the finals.

The SPEED cameras were rolling as Van Horn pulled the Traxxas T-Maxx out of the pits and staged in the racing lane. His opponent would be none other than Superman driven by Chad Fortune. The lights went green for the final time in Houston.  T-Maxx had a good lead on the Superman, and prevailed for the win! It was pure domination for Carl Van Horn and the Traxxas T-Maxx team!

Upon taking the racing victory in front of a packed house, Carl sent the T-Maxx into a ferocious victory donut much to the delight of the fans! Unfortunately, a transmission failure ended the night prematurely. The T-Maxx was unable to return for freestyle, but the fans were still going wild for Van Horn and the T-Maxx!

Upon receiving the racing trophy Carl thanked everyone at Traxxas for their support!

The next stop of the USHRA Monster Jam series for the Traxxas T-Maxx will be in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (February 10 – 12) at the Wachovia Spectrum.
