T-Maxx Thrills Minneapolis!

Minneapolis, Minnesota (February 18, 2006) - The USHRA Monster Jam® series visited downtown Minneapolis bringing 12 of the best monster trucks in the country together for an impressive display of horsepower and big air. The Traxxas T-Maxx®, driven by Carl Van Horn, looked to continue its winning ways in Minneapolis.

The weekend kicked off with the pit party allowing fans to meet and greet their favorite drivers. R/C fans were out in force for the pit party and local R/C clubs provided fans with R/C truck demonstrations and racing action.

Monster truck racing started out with qualifying on the Chicago-style course. The Traxxas T-Maxx lined up with Tom Meents and Maximum Destruction, and when the light went green Carl put the hammer down and set the fast qualifying time that held up until the final qualifier.

The 2nd fastest qualifying time set by T-Maxx setup a first round battle with Hot Wheels®, piloted by Chuck Warner. Van Horn unleashed the 1,500+ horsepower of T-Maxx and sailed into the 2nd round with an impressive victory. Up next was a second round match-up with Air Force. In a demonstration of power and agility the Traxxas T-Maxx one again was victorious and earned a spot in the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals the T-Maxx lined up against the Bounty Hunter® driven by Jimmy Creten. Both trucks had excellent runs but it was the Bounty Hunter edging out T-Maxx in a photo finish. The Bounty Hunter went on to defeat Grave Digger in the racing finals.

Monster truck freestyle went well for the Traxxas T-Maxx team, and T-Maxx finished 3rd in freestyle with a score of 19. T-Maxx put on an exciting freestyle run filled with big air, donuts, and huge wheelies. The fans were on their feet cheering on the Traxxas T-Maxx in Minneapolis.

T-Maxx can be seen at the USHRA Monster Jam event in Jacksonville, Florida this Saturday (February 25th).
