Weekend of Wins for T-Maxx!

TRENTON, NEW JERSEY (April 28, 2006) – The Traxxas T-Maxx® roared into the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey, for the Checkered Flag Productions Monster Truck Winter Nationals. T-Maxx, driven by Carl Van Horn, faced a fierce field of competition, including the likes of Sudden Impact®, Big Foot®, Demon®, and Predator®. With three shows scheduled for the weekend, Friday evening started off with great momentum for the Traxxas team.

The T-Maxx tore up the short dirt track inside the Sovereign Bank Arena as Carl put the Traxxas team into the 2nd qualifying position, and then started a march to the finals. In round one it was Predator being knocked out of the competition by the Traxxas T-Maxx, which set up a round two showdown of Demon vs. T-Maxx. After defeating Demon, the Traxxas team found itself in the finals matched up against the number one qualifier, Big Foot. In an extremely good race, the T-Maxx emerged from the dust as the winner on the first night of racing in Trenton.

In the freestyle round, T-Maxx got enormous air with several incredible leaps over the crushed cars. Although T-Maxx put on an impressive show, Predator took the freestyle win, much to the dismay of T-Maxx fans.

On Saturday afternoon Traxxas T-Maxx stole the spotlight by taking both the racing and the freestyle win. T-Maxx defeated a hard-charging Ricky Ownley driving Sudden Impact in the finals to take the racing win. In freestyle, T-Maxx put on a breathtaking show with huge air, wheelies, and leaps. T-Maxx was the afternoon crowd favorite!

Saturday night provided red hot action inside the Sovereign Bank Arena as the competitors turned it up for the final show of the weekend. In the first round T-Maxx defeated Sudden Impact and then moved on to beat Big Foot in the second round. In the finals, T-Maxx and Predator squared off. Both trucks punched it off of the line and ran side by side for a near photo finish. In the end Predator took the win.

In freestyle T-Maxx once again dominated the arena floor with huge air, wheelies, and wild saves. On the last freestyle leap, T-Maxx landed hard on the rear end, causing a wheel to break off. The impact was so rough that the truck rocked up onto two wheels. Van Horn quickly and carefully maneuvered the T-Maxx back down to the ground to the roaring approval of the New Jersey monster truck fans. T-Maxx undeniably took the last freestyle win.

This weekend (May 5-7) the Traxxas T-Maxx will take part in the Monster Jam® Summer Heat® series in Ocala, Florida at the Ocala Speedway.
