T-Maxx Goes Wild in Eustis!

EUSTIS, FLORIDA (May 13, 2006) – The Traxxas T-Maxx® ran in the Southern Monster Truck Showdown® in Eustis, Florida, and back-up T-Maxx driver Ricky Ownley faced a solid field of competition, including Wild Hair®, Gun Slinger®, Clydesdale®, Cowboy, and Monkey’n Around®. The Eustis Fairgrounds hosted some very intense monster truck action, with the T-Maxx Team on a mission for the checkered flag.

Friday night the action started with T-Maxx going vertical in the wheelie contest, much to the delight of the screaming T-Maxx fans. T-Maxx began a march to the final round of drag racing, where driver Ricky Ownley maneuvered T-Maxx into the finals against Scott Hartsock in Gun Slinger. Ownley hit the throttle too soon, and the officials called a red light on T-Maxx giving the win to Gun Slinger.

The night was still far from over with freestyle ending the action packed show. T-Maxx went out last in freestyle and showed the Eustis fans what monster truck freestyle is all about. Ricky filled the run with cyclones, huge air, and wheelies, to the roaring approval of the fans. On the last jump, the truck lifted off the ground getting the biggest air of the night! Upon landing, the right front wheel broke-off. Ricky then emerged from the cockpit of the T-Maxx to the cheers of the fans. The fans voted T-Maxx as the freestyle winner!

Night two started out with T-Maxx pulling monster wheelies in the wheelie contest. The Traxxas T-Maxx paired up in the first round race against a fast Clydesdale, and an early loss forced the Traxxas Team to the pits until freestyle. In freestyle, T-Maxx was up to the challenge and ready to put on a stellar freestyle for the fans for the 2nd night in a row. The last jump for the T-Maxx was a vertical leap over the gigantic van stack! With all of the weight coming down on the rear wheels, the right rear wheel broke-off, ending the night for the Traxxas T-Maxx team. Again, the crowd exploded with approval for T-Maxx, but in the end it wasn’t enough to take the top honors.

The Traxxas T-Maxx can be seen next weekend (May 19-21) in Lima, Ohio, for the Special Events 4-Wheel Jamboree. For more information on T-Maxx and Traxxas R/C products, visit Traxxas.com.
