T-Maxx Soars in Mansfield!

MANSFIELD, OHIO (July 15th, 2006) – The Traxxas T-Maxx monster truck team visited Mansfield, Ohio, for the Monster Nationals at the Richland County Fairgrounds. Professional driver, Carl Van Horn piloted T-Maxx through the hot and humid summer day against a tough field including Big Dawg, Lil Miss Dangerous, Sudden Impact, Raminator, and Nitemare.

The monster truck action kicked off Saturday afternoon with T-Maxx setting the third fastest qualifying time on the tacky Chicago-style racing course. Unfortunately, fuel pump problems sidelined T-Maxx for the remainder of the afternoon show.

The Saturday night show proved to be much better for the T-Maxx team. The evening show opened with a wheelie contest giving fans wheels-up action. T-Maxx went vertical over a stack of cars, receiving a roar of approval from the crowd. In the racing portion of the event, T-Maxx set a blistering fast qualifying time that matched T-Maxx against Nitemare. T-Maxx laid the power down to defeat Nitemare in route to the second round. In round two, T-Maxx faced a strong Raminator truck; but, in a showdown of monster truck superpowers, the crowd favorite, T-Maxx, emerged victorious. T-Maxx advanced to the finals against Big Dawg.

T-Maxx and Big Dawg launched off of the line simultaneously, and they were neck-and-neck until the final turn when T-Maxx spun out, handing the racing win to Big Dawg. After a near victory in the racing segment, the T-Maxx team had their sights set on a freestyle victory.

Van Horn waited patiently inside the cockpit of T-Maxx before cutting loose on the Mansfield track. The light went green, the RII (Remote Ignition Interrupter) was checked, and it was time for freestyle, T-Maxx style!

T-Maxx instantly blasted though the dirt mounts before taking to the cars for some awesome sky wheelies, cyclones, saves, and wild air over the vans. The Traxxas T-Maxx was on a role and the fans erupted when Van Horn immerged from the T-Maxx cockpit. Everyone was on their feet for T-Maxx! Nitemare and Raminator took their runs next, but they were unable to touch T-Maxx’s freestyle. Rightfully, T-Maxx was voted the freestyle winner by fan applause.
