BEAUMONT, TEXAS (September 9, 2006) – The Extreme Monster Truck Nationals rolled into Ford Arena in Beaumont, Texas, for a weekend of non-stop monster truck action. T-Maxx, driven by guest driver Bruce Haney was up against some of the strongest in the business including Avenger, Brutus, Equalizer, and Hot Tamale.
The action kicked off Saturday night with T-Maxx going near vertical in the wheelie contest. In racing, T-Maxx started off slow, but was brought back into the second round as the fast loser to take on the Hot Tamale. T-Maxx cooled off the Hot Tamale truck by taking an impressive win. Team Traxxas quickly found themselves in the final round of racing matched-up against the Equalizer. Thanks to massive horsepower and cutting edge monster truck technology, T-Maxx went on to defeat the hard charging Equalizer of Mike Hawkins. T-Maxx fans were on their feet for the victorious Traxxas T-Maxx!
After putting on a T-Maxx style freestyle filled with big air, wheelies, and donuts, T-Maxx fans had the opportunity to receive autographs and meet the man behind the machine.
On Sunday T-Maxx went skyward in the wheelie contest, but the main focus was racing. T-Maxx knocked-out the first and second round competition in route to the final round of racing. In a re-match with the Equalizer, T-Maxx was equalized in a close call that went the other way. In freestyle, Haney pushed T-Maxx to the limit in a crowd inspiring run that was cut short due to a broken rear steering linkage.
