DAYTON, OHIO (November 18, 2006) – The Traxxas T-Maxx roared into Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio, for the Checkered Flag Productions Monster Truck Winter Nationals. T-Maxx, driven by Sean Duhon, was pitted against Holman’s Beast, Sudden Impact, Full Throttle, and Reptoid.
On Friday, the short straight-line drag racing course made for some close races. The Traxxas T-Maxx stomped the competition in the first round, but was nipped at the finish line in the semi-final round in one of the closer races of the evening. In freestyle, T-Maxx unleashed a fury of jumps and wheelies across the crushed cars putting on one of the top freestyles of the night.
On Saturday, the T-Maxx team was determined to go all the way. T-Maxx marched to the finals and ended up facing-off against Full Throttle in the Dayton, Ohio final event. Both trucks launched off the start with engines blazing. Both trucks reached incredible speeds on the straight-line course, but in the end it was T-Maxx coming out with the win! The T-Maxx fans went wild as Sean Duhon emerged from the driver’s seat to acknowledge the fans. In freestyle, T-Maxx was one of the last to go and put on a fabulous show catching big air, popping big wheelies, and even trying to spin off a donut on the tacky, clay-based dirt! T-Maxx set the bar high, but freestyle was judged by crowd applause which mostly went to hometown hero Bobby Holman in Holman’s Beast.
