NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS (December 9, 2006) – The Traxxas® T-Maxx™ monster truck roared into the Nacogdoches Expo Center in Nacogdoches, Texas, to compete in the Thunder In The Pines monster truck and tuff truck event against King Krunch, Sudden Impact, and El Matador.
The monster truck action started Friday night as they took raced on the straight-line drag racing course. T-Maxx, with driver Carl Van Horn behind the wheel, drew a first round battle against the King Krunch. Excitement grew as the trucks were staged with engines revving. The light flashed green, and both trucks blasted off the line with wheels in the air. King Krunch pulled off the win over the Traxxas T-Maxx in an incredibly close race. In the race for 3rd and 4th place T-Maxx was placed against the Sudden Impact. This time, Van Horn punched the throttle and annihilated Sudden Impact for the 3rd place final standings. King Krunch went on to win the racing portion of the event.
Next was freestyle, where the T-Maxx was scheduled to perform 3rd out. The Traxxas machine exploded out of the pits and took to the track in spectacular fashion. Carl Van Horn put T-Maxx through its paces much to the crowd’s delight grabbing lots of air, whipping wheelies, and using the entire track in a very high energy T-Maxx style run. The freestyle victory was awarded to T-Maxx!
Saturday night’s event started with T-Maxx facing off against King Krunch for the 2nd time of the weekend. This time the Traxxas T-Maxx launched off the line and defeated King Krunch in a rematch from Friday’s first round of racing. Upon finishing the race, T-Maxx was diagnosed with an electrical problem.
The T-Maxx crew jumped into action and repaired the truck for freestyle, where T-Maxx soared though the air hitting every obstacle in sight. The roar and brute power of the Traxxas T-Maxx was electrifying to all of the T-Maxx fans. I
