T-MAXX THRILLS SAN ANTONIO!

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (January 13, 2007) - The Traxxas T-Maxx and Carl Van Horn blasted into the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, for the USHRA Monster Jam. The competition was fierce as T-Maxx faced-off against; Grave Digger, King Krunch, Airforce Afterburner, Black Smith, Taz, El Matador, and others over the Saturday and Sunday two-show event.

The Saturday show started off with qualifying. T-Maxx laid down a great run on the Chicago-style course, pairing T-Maxx against King Krunch in the first round of racing. Steering problems plagued T-Maxx causing an early loss in racing. The T-Maxx crew jumped into action getting the truck fixed for freestyle. Van Horn anxiously waited for his turn in freestyle. The track was covered with enormous school bus pyramids and crushed car stacks. T-Maxx was second to last in freestyle and Van Horn wanted to give the local fans a show to remember! T-Maxx blasted onto the track exciting the fans with the roar of the massive engine before putting T-Maxx though its paces! T-Maxx rocketed into orbit off of the school bus stack several times before the body was knocked completely off of the truck! As the body ripped off, fans rose to their feet cheering T-Maxx on! Van Horn showed no signs of stopping, and it seemed as if he was just warming up, because T-Maxx got even more massive air before a grand finale cyclone! During the cyclone the left rear wheel completely separated from the truck, but Van Horn continued the cyclone before coming to a stop and jumping out to hear the appreciation of a the roaring fans! Much to the crowds’ surprise, the judges awarded T-Maxx with a 27, which was enough for second place.

After working though the night the T-Maxx crew had the truck ready-to-rock the house again on Sunday! The show kicked off with racing where T-Maxx took on the Eradicator of Andy Slifko. Both trucks seemed to struggle with the large Chicago-style course, but it was Eradicator taking the win as T-Maxx faced transmission problems. Freestyle was left and the fans were ready for some action! It was go time and Carl throttled onto the track and began another classic T-Maxx freestyle run! T-Maxx soared through the air hitting all of the obstacles in sight. About halfway into the freestyle run T-Maxx went HUGE landing hard, nose first, which broke the front tie-rod and front axel housing. T-Maxx was done for the evening, and the crowd showed the appreciation for T-Maxx’s all-out freestyle run! T-Maxx received a 24, tying Airforce Afterburner for second place.
