T-MAXX ROCKS CALIFORNIA!

FRESNO, CALIFORNIA (April 14, 2007) – The Traxxas T-Maxx, driven by Carl Van Horn, roared into the Fresno Fairgrounds in Fresno, California, for the USHRA Monster Jam. The competition consisted of Captain’s Curse, Sudden Impact, Shocker, Captain Insano, and Grave Digger, driven by the 2007 World Finals Freestyle Champion, Pablo Huffacker! The weekend kicked off on Friday night with T-Maxx going vertical over the car stack for a score of 21, which earned a strong second place finish.

In racing, the track was perfect for high speed, full throttle runs. Out of the gate Van Horn put the throttle down and roared over the first two-car roller and then through ‘no man’s land’. T-Maxx ended the run by launching over the final car set ahead of Captain’s Curse. T-Maxx mowed down the competition all the way into the final round against Grave Digger. In a close race, the Digger was able to pull off the win in a photo finish. T-Maxx came back to wow the crowd in freestyle by pulling off a great run scoring a near perfect, 29.

Saturday night the rain put a damper on the wheelie contest, but the USHRA officials improvised with a dirt slingin’ donut contest to kick the show off! Van Horn put the Holbrook Racing engine to work inside the T-Maxx and spun his way to a 28, much to the fans’ delight. In racing it would be T-Maxx getting it done, defeating Captain’s Curse and Shocker in route to a final round match-up against Captain Insano. The lights went green and T-Maxx blasted out of the mud and ripped down the track sending dirt everywhere! T-Maxx flew over the last jump and was declared the winner! Then it was time for freestyle with Captain Insano and Shocker having good runs early in the program. T-Maxx put on another clinic to scoring 27, which tied Captain Insano for 2nd place honors.

On Sunday the track dried out and it was time for the wheelie contest. T-Maxx dropped the throttle and scored a 27 with a great wheelie. Grave Digger and T-Maxx were both on a mission as both trucks advanced through the competition into the finals. T-Maxx shot down Sudden Impact and Shocker and Grave Digger mowed down Captain’s Curse and Shocker. For the 2nd time in Fresno it was T-Maxx and Digger in the finals. Off the start it was T-Maxx banging down the gears and rocketing off the line with Digger not far behind, but Digger caught up in ‘no man’s land’. T-Maxx hit the final jump full speed and careened into the winner’s circle! It was T-Maxx taking the win! In the final Fresno freestyle T-Maxx showed off with huge air, wicked cyclones, and ferocious wheelies to score a stellar 28. The fans roared with their approval! T-Maxx and Van Horn won freestyle to wrap up a dominating weekend.
