T-Maxx Full size MT

T-Maxx is the truck everyone is talking about!
The award-winning Traxxas T-Maxx is the world’s premier 4-wheel drive R/C monster truck. Its innovative, cutting edge design captured the imagination of performance-hungry enthusiasts everywhere and now it has become the hobby’s best selling R/C monster truck. Ever. Nothing else comes close to matching the T-Maxx’s perfect balance of tire-shredding horsepower, quick acceleration, agile handling, huge suspension travel, and 40+ mph top speed. Only a T-Maxx can bring all these performance attributes together in a single package that’s made to go anywhere, anytime.

It’s an incredibly fun driving experience you just can’t get anywhere else. It’s no wonder T-Maxx has broken every sales record, has the largest aftermarket accessory support ever produced for an R/C model, and has an almost cult-like following of T-Maxx loyalists. Look no further.
The one to get is right here!

What is it?
The T-Maxx is a 1/10 scale, 4-wheel drive monster truck. It is part of the Maxx family of trucks, manufactured solely by Traxxas. The T-Maxx is powered by the TRX 2.5 Racing Engine.

This 2.5cc multi-port, rear exhaust, two-stroke engine runs on fuel blended with alcohol and nitromethane, and is capable of turning nearly 50,000rpms! In a recent review by R/C Nitro Magazine, they called it "the most powerful small block engine we have ever tested," and their readers voted it Best Engine in the Reader’s Choice Awards. The TRX 2.5 is equipped with Traxxas’ exclusive EZ-Start™ Electric Starting System. Starting the engine is as simple as pushing a button! T-Maxx is fitted with a two-speed forward and reverse transmission. You shift between forward and reverse by pressing a conveniently located grip-mounted selector on the transmitter. Only the T-Maxx’s patented design allows you maintain smooth, fully proportional control over your throttle and braking in both forward and reverse gears. Before T-Maxx, if a nitro-powered model got stuck facing a wall, you had to go rescue it. With T-Maxx, simply press a button to back out of trouble! The adjustable two-speed also shifts automatically in forward and reverse (try challenging yourself to drive backwards well-enough to hit second gear!). T-Maxx may be most famous for it's amazing, fully independent suspension and 8 oil-filled shock absorbers (2 at each wheel). With nearly 4 inches of suspension travel at each wheel and the plush feel of the oil-filled shocks, T-Maxx is equipped to drive over nearly anything at mind-boggling speeds. Combine that with the T-Maxx’s legendary durability and you find that absolutely nothing handles the rough stuff better than a T-Maxx. It comes fully assembled and Ready-To-Race® right out of the box. Install batteries, put on a few decals and your ready-to-run. The included radio system is installed, adjusted and the fuel mixture on the engine is pre-set to break-in specs. Whether you’re a novice or a pro, a professionally produced DVD is included to take you through the set-up and engine break-in procedure.

"one of the most significant vehicles in the history of the R/C hobby, the T-Maxx 2.5!" - R/C Car Magazine, December 2002

"The Traxxas box claims that the truck will hit 40-plus mph. They were being modest." - R/C Car Magazine, December 2002

"Without exaggerating, I say this Traxxas engine has the most linear throttle action I have ever run-period. It’s powerband seems limitless and it spools effortlessly to a top speed of nearly 45mph." - R/C Nitro Magazine, December 2002

"The new TRX 2.5 engine is everything it is hyped-up to be and then some. Once the general public gets to see just how fast the new truck is, they will quickly forget about wishing for a big block .21." - R/C Car Magazine, December 2002

"As the leader in ready-to-run nitro, Traxxas also aimed for maximum convenience with an all-new goof proof electric starting system and a comprehensive manual that sets a new standard for RTRs." - R/C Nitro Magazine, December 2002

"The TRX 2.5 T-Maxx manual deserves recognition for being the best in the industry. The term 'manual' doesn't really do it justice; it's more like a 'getting started in nitro' book!" - R/C Car Action Magazine, September 2003

"the T-Maxx’s new full-color, amply illustrated instruction book is a vital part of the performance package. The manual also includes a glossary of terms, to help nitro newcomers speak the ?language.? Of course, the instructions also precisely cover even the simplest steps required to get the new Maxx from the box to the backyard, so even the complete novice can feel confident about his first run." - R/C Car Action Magazine, November 2002

"The T-Maxx instructions have to be the best we have ever laid eyes on." - R/C Nitro Magazine, April 2003

"Traxxas now includes a DVD with each of its 2.5-powered vehicles. Kit videos have been done before but the Traxxas vid is by far the best in terms of production and depth of information. Watching this DVD endures that even a rank beginner will be successful the first time out." - R/C Car Action Magazine, February 2003

"Every RTR should be as easy as the new T-Maxx to get running." - R/C Car Magazine, December 2002

"The first thing you’ll notice is how smoothly the drivetrain operates." - R/C Car Action Magazine, February 2003

"The truck has spawned more than 130 fan websites and at least 70 aftermarket companies that create accessories for it. It even has its own racing class!" - R/C Car Action Magazine, November 2002

"The TRX 2.5 and its all-new support hardware are the focal points of the next generation T-Maxx. This engine smashes the mold of the typical RTR engine, using high quality components to produce incredible power and speed. It's a total package that is unique and likely rivals even the highest performance small blocks." - R/C Car Action Magazine, November 2002

"The T-Maxx consistently launched itself like a caged animal with its front wheels raised, and it accelerated at an impressive rate. The high-revving engine and tall gearing got it to the finish line first every time." - R/C Nitro Magazine, April 2003

"The incredible TRX 2.5 engine...pumps out enough power to shame many "sport" big-block engines. The R/C Nitro dyno-test confirmed more than 1hp (1.33 to be exact) from the mighty mill, and it has no trouble pushing the T-Maxx past 40mph - and that's with electric starting!"- R/C Car Action Magazine, September 2003

“The TRX 2.5 is an all new design from the ground up. It is intended to produce Maximum power from a small block platform and for a reasonable price. Starting with a clean slate allowed Traxxas to incorporate numerous performance-enhancing features to ratchet the power output up beyond most other small blocks. It’s simply a superior all-around engine that will be tough to beat, even with certain big blocks.”

“There’s no other way to say this: The TRX 2.5 rocks- plain and simple. It makes world-class power and I’d install it in any race car… It’s a combination of all the right ingredients and superior engineering and is sure to be attractive to the power hungry.”

“The TRX 2.5 blows away every other small block engine we’ve tested.”
