Traxxas products are only sold in hobby stores nationwide. They are not sold through mass merchandisers like Wal-Mart or Toys-R-Us. Your friendly local hobby dealer is able to provide personalized service, expertise, accessories, and parts support that's not available anywhere else. Click here to find the hobby shops nearest you (by zip-code), or look in the Yellow Pages under 'hobbies'.
Ready-To-Race is a Traxxas trademark for ready-to-run. Ready-to-run models are fully-assembled with an installed radio system and require only minor finishing touches (such as installing batteries) to be ready to drive. You don't have to build a kit to join in on the fun. Traxxas trademarked Ready-To-Race to stand for the superior quality, completeness, and performance that comes with each of our models.
Traxxas models use high-powered two and three-channel component radio systems for control. There is a receiver in the car that picks up control signals from the handheld transmitter. These radio systems are extremely reliable and have a range of nearly 1/8th of a mile. There are six different channels available so up to six models can race against each other at the same time.

Traxxas models are built with durability to make them last for years, not weeks. An experienced team of engineers designs each component to withstand the high speeds and the inevitable stunts and crashes people put our products through. There is no comparison between the durability of our models and toy R/C cars found at the big toy stores. We like to play with the products we make so you can count on us to make them tough and fun!

Generally you wouldn't be able to run our electric models in a typical house. They are simply too fast. Nitro models should only be run outdoors where there is adequate ventilation for the exhaust fumes.
It takes about 20 to 25 minutes to charge the typical high-capacity 7.2 volt battery pack. The packs can be recharged hundreds of times.
There are many variables that affect the run time of an electric model including battery capacity, battery condition, and the driving style. Typically 10 to 15 minutes can be expected with good quality battery packs. People usually have 3 or 4 battery packs either charged or charging to keep the action going.
We normally like to advise our customers to start off with an electric model so they can become familiar with the operation of the vehicles and become better drivers before they take on the additional challenges of high-speed driving and engine tuning. But, if you crave to have your senses assaulted with nitro power and speed, then you've just got to have it. We certainly understand! With that in mind, our models include detailed instructions and a professionally produced DVD that take you from a nitro newbie to an engine-tuning hero if you're willing to just read, watch, and learn. The engines are equipped with our effortless EZ-Start push-button electric starting. Plus our toll-free customer support is available until 9pm on weekdays to answer any questions that come up or provide additional explanation of the topics in the manual and on the DVD. So yes, don't be afraid to tackle a Traxxas nitro model head on!
